Parallel Line

Development

The parallel line method of

pattern development is based

on a system of lines drawn

parallel to one another on the

surface of a sheet metal article

and is used to develop items

such as elbows, segmental

bends, Tee-pieces or valve

boxes for example. In general,

it is used to develop square,

rectangular and cylindrical

shapes (prisms). An example

of parallel development can be

seen below.
