Section 68: Round Three-piece Offset

Formulas and Measurements

• Trisect the semi-circles and label as shown Extend lines from the trisection points to the reference Lines B & C Extend lines to the corresponding lines from the other end For the Stretch-out, the end pieces going into the offset, take half the circumference and divide by 12 to obtain a walk-out measurement and label as shown in Take the measurements from the diameter line to the reference Line A and transfer that measurement to the corresponding numbered lines of the Stretch-out Connect all points and allow for the bead or ccccrimp.

Procedure

1. Step 1

   Draw the elevation view as shown with semi-circles at each end. Trisect the semi-circles and label as shown

2. Step 2

   Extend lines from the trisection points to the reference Lines B & C

3. Step 3

   Extend lines to the corresponding lines from the other end

4. Step 4

   For the Stretch-out, the end pieces going into the offset, take half the circumference and divide by 12 to obtain a walk-out measurement and label as shown in

5. Step 5

   Take the measurements from the diameter line to the reference Line A and transfer that measurement to the corresponding numbered lines of the Stretch-out

6. Step 6

   Connect all points and allow for the bead or ccccrimp. The other end piece can be drawn in the same manner

7. Step 7

   For the off-set portion of the layout perform

8. Step 8

   Measure to each side of reference Line B to reference Lines A and C and transfer those measurements to the corresponding numbered lines of the Stretch-out. Add a bead or ccccrimp allowance for the off-set piece
