Required Information
- Height
- Large diameter
- Small diameter
- True height
Procedure
- Step 1
Draw an Elevation View of the fitting
- Step 2
Draw the Center Lines for both the Taper and the Run-out so that they intersect
- Step 3
Draw a semi-circle at the end of the run-out and trisect that semi-circle. Draw lines at 90 degrees from these points to the Center Line and label the points on semi-circle as shown
- Step 4
Where the top and bottom lines of the run-out intersect the taper, draw perpendicular lines up and down as shown
- Step 5
Swing quarter circle arcs, using the radius of the run-out, from the points where the top and bottom lines of the run-out enter the taper. These quarter circles will be drawn to the perpendicular lines in
- Step 6
Draw another two quarter circles to represent the radii of both large and small diameters. These will be drawn using the Center Line as an Apex point
- Step 7
Trisect the two first quarter circles drawn in
- Step 8
Where these lines intersect both larger arcs, draw 90 degree lines up and down to the outside lines of the run-out
- Step 9
Connect corresponding lines from both outside lines of the run- out and where they intersect with the run-out lines, place a dot and connect all those dots
- Step 10
The Stretch-out will be drawn as shown in
- Step 11
Draw the body as a Taper would be drawn. Draw the hole cut- out as was shown in previous layouts
