Required Information

  • Height
  • True height

Formulas and Measurements

  • From the Elevation View set dividers at the Apex & Points 1-4 on the Elevation View.
  • Swing arcs, and where they intersect is Set dividers from 1 to 2 on the Plan View and swing arcs to each side of Point 1 on the Stretch-out From the Elevation View, set dividers at the Apex and Points 2-3 on the Elevation View and transfer this measure to the Stretch-out again using both A Points as an Apex.
  • Where these arcs meet, is Use the same methods from Steps 6 and 7 to form Points 3 and Draw an arc to each side of Point A using 'h the measure of a square side From the Elevation View, set the dividers at the Apex and Point S4 and transfer to the Stretch-out using Points 4 as the Apex points.

Procedure

  1. Step 1

Draw an Elevation View of the fitting (include insulation)

  2. Step 2

Draw a Plan View. Trisect the top right quarter circle and label as shown

  3. Step 3

From the Plan View, take the measurements from Point A to Points 1 — 4. Transfer these measurements from where the Center Line meets the horizontal line to the right side on the Elevation View. Label these points

  4. Step 4

Draw lines from the Apex to these points. These lines are the Slant Heights

  5. Step 5

For the Stretch-out, draw a line the exact length of a square side and label the ends A. From the Elevation View set dividers at the Apex & Points 1-4 on the Elevation View. Transfer this length to the Stretch-out by using both A Points as an Apex. Swing arcs, and where they intersect is

  6. Step 6

Set dividers from 1 to 2 on the Plan View and swing arcs to each side of Point 1 on the Stretch-out

  7. Step 7

From the Elevation View, set dividers at the Apex and Points 2-3 on the Elevation View and transfer this measure to the Stretch-out again using both A Points as an Apex. Where these arcs meet, is

  8. Step 8

Use the same methods from Steps 6 and 7 to form Points 3 and

  9. Step 9

Draw an arc to each side of Point A using 'h the measure of a square side

  10. Step 10

From the Elevation View, set the dividers at the Apex and Point S4 and transfer to the Stretch-out using Points 4 as the Apex points. Where they intersect with the last arcs, are the S Points

  11. Step 11

Connect all points to form half of the fitting. Add for lap, ccccrimp and bead
