Section 30: Eccentric Reducer (Hog Nose)

Required Information

  • Height
  • True height

Formulas and Measurements

  • Transfer this measurement from the Center Line to the right on the line you have just drawn From the point determined in rom the Apex just formed, draw lines through Points 2 and 3 on the lorirontol line of the small arc to intersecting points on the large arc At these intersecting points on the large arc, draw 90 degree lines out to Line A and label as shown or the Stretch-out. set the dividers at the Apex and Point a on the small nrc and swing an OM.
  • This arc will be Set the dividers at Points 1 and 2 on the small arc and transfer 13 walk-out points to Line 4 (12 for the fitting and 1 for the lap allowance) ,et the dividers at the Apex and Point A in Figure 2 and swing another arc.

Procedure

  1. Step 1

ow o vea,co, YU aegree tsorizo r erticui line will be Center Li

  2. Step 2

Draw a circle using half the O.D. of the large insulation, then measure from the top of the arc to a point on the Center Line using the true height of the fitting and at this point draw a 90 degree horizontal line

  3. Step 3

,There the true height point intersects the Center Line draw a half circle using the O.D.I. of the smallest part of the cone

  4. Step 4

Trisect the quarter circle on the right side and from points on the arc draw 90 degree lines to the smaller diameter line. Number these points on the diameter line as shown

  5. Step 5

90 degree,,,i1Lontal line from the top of the circle and me..‘),,. nail the width of the conic as it enters the body of the fitting as shown in Figure 2. Transfer this measurement from the Center Line to the right on the line you have just drawn

  6. Step 6

    From the point determined in

  7. Step 7

rom the Apex just formed, draw lines through Points 2 and 3 on the lorirontol line of the small arc to intersecting points on the large arc

  8. Step 8

At these intersecting points on the large arc, draw 90 degree lines out to Line A and label as shown

  9. Step 9

or the Stretch-out. set the dividers at the Apex and Point a on the small nrc and swing an OM. This arc will be

  10. Step 10

Set the dividers at Points 1 and 2 on the small arc and transfer 13 walk-out points to Line 4 (12 for the fitting and 1 for the lap allowance)

  11. Step 11

,et the dividers at the Apex and Point A in Figure 2 and swing another arc. This will be arc Line A

  12. Step 12

From the Apex to walk-out points on Line 4, draw lines through to points on arc Line A. Label as shown in

  13. Step 13

ake a r easurement horn A to 6 on the outsloe s Apex to the large arc in Figure 2 and transfer this measurement Ines on the stretch-out. Draw the same for Points C & D but take at of the

  14. Step 14

Connect all points and allow for laps, tabs and a bead
