Formulas and Measurements
- Draw a 90 degree angle Using half the O.D.I. set the dividers at the Apex and swing a 90 degree arc from the vertical line to the Base Divide the arc into equal number of parts by bisecting or trisecting (in this case 3; larger tees require more divisions) Draw 90 degree vertical lines from the intersected points to the Base Line and number these points as shown Set dividers from 1 to 2 on the arc and on Line 1, do 3 walk-ups and mark the top point.
Procedure
- Step 1
Draw a 90 degree angle
- Step 2
Using half the O.D.I. set the dividers at the Apex and swing a 90 degree arc from the vertical line to the Base
- Step 3
Divide the arc into equal number of parts by bisecting or trisecting (in this case 3; larger tees require more divisions)
- Step 4
Draw 90 degree vertical lines from the intersected points to the Base Line and number these points as shown
- Step 5
Set dividers from 1 to 2 on the arc and on Line 1, do 3 walk-ups and mark the top point. On Line 2, do two walk-ups and on Line 3, do one walk-up
- Step 6
Connect all points with Point 4 to form half the Pattern
- Step 7
Cut out the pattern and for the stem portion of the fitting, cut half the total circumference, and place pattern on the metal as in
- Step 8
For the other half of the fitting, allow for laps on both ends
- Step 9
For the body portion of the fitting, cut half the Total Circumference and place the pattern on the metal as shown in Figure 2. Step10. For the other portion of the fitting, add lap allowances at both ends. Figure 1 Creating the Pattern Figure Ai. [— PaIbm Moos Q twc piec es I ► / 1 I / I / I
